  Podcast Interview about the JW's

  i recently did an interview about the jw's, their history and my experience as a jw on a podcast hosted by two ex-mormons, called irreligiosophy.

  JW Friend Contacted Me...

  this seems to be a big week for me with all things jw-related.

  i made my reappearance here a few days back after a two year absence.

  i recently did a podcast interview on my experiences as a jw (i'll post the link on friday when it is up online) and now i've been contacted out of the blue on facebook by a gal who was a close friend of mine back in my jw days.

  life has been moving forward for me post-jw.

  i just wanted to share a really great thing that happened recently to me.

  Saw my dad last night...

  a few weeks ago i had a conversation with my mother (still a jw).

  she told me that one of my fave elders, who was disfellowshipped a few months before i disassociated three years ago, just got reinstated.

  now, to know my mother is to know that she doesn't give you information unless she has an underlying motive.

  as j.w.s we were taught that life wasnt supposed to be about suffering.

  life was supposed to be about joy and bliss and everlasting life.

  if it werent for adam and eve and satan, all would be well.

  Anybody Watching "A Raisin in the Sun"?

  right now on abc is premiering a movie called "a raisin in the sun".

  it has sean "diddy" combs in it.

  anyhow, it was filmed here in toronto and if you're watching the movie, the house they just bought is the home of one of my old return visits.

  Anyone still have trouble expressing anger?

  having been doubly mind-f*&ked by an organization that preaches peace and poor boundaries and a perfectionistic mother who hates conflict, i find myself still having great difficulty expressing my anger in a healthy way.

  my past response when angry was to cry or turn the anger on myself and become self-destructive, ultimately leading to suicidal thoughts.

  i find lately my subconscious percolating anger almost constantly.

  Anyone else feel like an emotional mutant at this time of year?

  i've been attempting to infiltrate my friend's christmas traditions in an attempt to understand and appreciate the holiday.

  i only had christmas until i was 5 when my mom converted to jw.

  before that, christmas was really big in our house.

  I met Jamie Oliver!!!

  i work in a large bookstore in toronto.

  this past thursday, jamie oliver came to promote his new book.

  i got to work the "green room" and hang out with him before he went onstage.
